General

What is BC Emerging Leaders (BCEL)?
BCEL is an emerging leaders network for Credit Union employees in British Columbia. It was created to provide employees within the B.C. credit union system an opportunity to share and develop their leadership capabilities, regardless of their past experience and current role.

I have suggestions for BCEL – where can I share them?
Please fill out the form under Contact Us.

Membership

Who can join BCEL?
Any BC Credit Union or Credit Union system partner employee who has a passion for collaboration and self-development is encouraged to join the network! Please note that our content delivery strategies will be mostly catered to individuals who are new to the Credit Union system or who are 45 years or younger.

I’m a part-time/contract/on leave staff member – can I still participate?

Yes! As long as you have a desire to learn and collaborate, you are more than welcome to apply.

I’ve completed the application. Now what?
Applications are reviewed and approved on a monthly basis. New member intake will take place during the first week of each month. Application deadlines for each month are on the 15th day of the previous month.

I’ve registered but I’m not receiving any emails.  What can I do?
Emails and newsletters from BCEL come from info@bcemergingleaders.com.  Check your junk mail in case any messages may have been filtered, and make sure this email address is on your safe list.

How do I join the Working Committee?
Each Fall, we will review the needs of the team. The Vice-Chair will take over the role of the Chair. Depending on the size of the network, there may be positions available in the team. These positions will be filled through a nomination and election process. More details will be provided closer to the date.

Events & Initiatives

What happens if I cannot make it to an event/initiative?
In order to get the full BCEL experience, we encourage all network members to participate fully in all events and initiatives. What you put in is what you get out so we hope to see you at our next event.

How much does it cost to take part in the events?
Most of our events are free. Others are subsidized and sponsored so a nominal fee will get you in. This is typical for our annual conference and in person events.
